Undergraduate Studies

Languages

French, German, and Spanish language studies are offered at CMU each year, alternating between Beginner and Intermediate courses. In addition, CMU also offers Greek and Hebrew language courses.

Why study Languages at CMU?

Several programs at CMU require that students take at least six credit hours in a language other than English. Programs in History and International Development Studies require facility in a second language in order to enhance research and/or facilitate strong relationships in the field of study.

Furthermore, students may take up to 12 credit hours of French, German, and Spanish at CMU in order to fulfill the teachable minor requirement for Early and Middle Years (in this case, students will go on to complete an after-degree BEd at another university).
