After moving to Canada, she played oboe and English horn with the Thunder Bay Symphony, in addition to working with the Winnipeg Symphony, CBC Orchestra, Musik Barock Ensemble, Rainbow Stage Pit Orchestra and the Saskatoon Symphony.

Currently, Sherry works as a substitute teacher in public schools, has taught at the International Music Camp and is frequently called on to coach young oboists at local band camps, workshops and in private lessons. She continues to play in community orchestras and bands, and to work as freelance professional musician.

Some of Dawn's previous accomplishments include winning the Herbert and Audrey Belyea Trophy (2006), as well as The University of Manitoba Concerto Competition (2004). Dawn also represented Manitoba at the National Music Festival, where she was awarded the Jan Simons Memorial Trophy for Song Interpretation (2006). Dawn is currently residing in Winnipeg with her husband and three cats. Her passion for performance has given her ample opportunity in Winnipeg. Dawn's desire to perform to the best of her abilities is now being passed on to her students.

For the past 17 years, Wes has served as Director of Music at Broadway-First Baptist Church in downtown Winnipeg. He has taught piano, organ and theory in various locations for over 30 years. He is a member of the College of Examiners of the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto. Performing experiences include numerous accompanying roles, organ recitals and involvement with several local choral groups.

Tatiana is Principal Violist of the Mennonite Community Orchestra as well as a member of its Board of Directors. Her orchestral experience also includes the University of Manitoba Orchestra and MUSAIC Chamber Orchestra; she is a substitute violist for Bel Canto and Hesed String Quartets and is still involved with choral music through membership in the Mennonite Festival Chorus. Tatiana was a participant in the 2011 Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute in Toronto, and is currently completing a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Performance at the University of Manitoba with plans to pursue further studies in orchestral and chamber music. Tatiana firmly believes that the potential for musical ability is given to everyone, and enjoys the opportunity to help people of any age to explore their skills.

Nicole Froese is a Bachelor of Arts student at CMU with a double major in music and international development. She studied piano with Dr. Cheryl Pauls and jazz with Beverly Aronovich, as well as Winnipeg’s leading jazz pianist, William Bonness.

Nicole was the recipient of CMU’s entrance scholarship Music Merit Award and Academic Entrance Scholarship, as well as the academic scholarship for returning students. She has done collaborative work with vocalists, instrumentalists choirs and also CMU’s Jazz Band. Nicole has experience teaching individual piano to a variety of ages as well as group Theory. She tutors theory and keyboard skills at the university level. Nicole’s diverse experiences in classical and jazz piano, and wide range of teaching opportunities have shaped her holistic approach to piano instruction. Nicole encourages a genuine joy in playing the piano.

Sashira has completed four years of teaching within the Winnipeg School Division and has taught art to Jr. High students in Dresden, Germany for a term. She will be on maternity leave during the 2011/2012 school year and looks forward to keeping a hand in the art education world at CSMA. She enjoys teaching young people about acrylics, pen and ink, charcoal, watercolour and clay, as well as other mediums. Sashira thrives on teaching new skills, introducing new media and encouraging discovery in her classroom.

In her spare time, Sashira works mainly with acrylic paint, watercolour and pen and ink. She is inspired by the world around her, namely nature. She works using many layers, pattern and repetition and welcomes happy accidents.

A versatile freelance musician, Alain has performed with many of Winnipeg's musical ensembles, including the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Manitoba Opera and Camerata Nova. He is also the drummer for the well-known local band SubCity Dwellers, an 8-piece outfit who record and tour regularly throughout Western Canada.

Her most recent acting and co-writing credits include Love, Hate and Lemon Pie and The Interview ("Best of Fest" winner) at the Winnipeg Fringe Festival. Erin has also written Lake Maniwannagohome in association with the Manitoba Association of Playwrights which was produced for children ages 9 to 12 at Manitoba Theatre for Young People in March of '06. She is currently working as a co-writer on her third Fringe show of Ordinary May's Extraordinary Ways for the 2008 Kids Fringe this summer.

Erin is a Theatre Instructor at Prairie Theatre Exchange School and Manitoba Theatre for Young People in Winnipeg where she teaches mime, musical theatre, improvisation, puppet/mask-making and more to all ages. She is also a senior artist with the Royal Conservatory of Music's Learning Through The Arts program. Erin is also an owner and one of the founding members of PushPlay Productions, a company whose mandate is to enliven and sustain the Performing Arts and to develop theatre education in rural communities. She has also acted as the head script-writer at The Meeting Place and is currently the K to 5 Program Director for their children's program KidzCore!

She has performed in this capacity across Canada, and in the United States and Europe. Rebecca is an energetic and caring teacher. Her goal is to instill the love of music in young children. Rebecca believes in learning through experience and play and she is very excited to teach Music for Kids this fall.

In Winnipeg Katy currently has contracts with the Louis Riel school division, clients from agencies like New Directions and St. Amant, as well as several senior facilities including Lions Manor, Lindenwood Terrace, and Riverview, in addition to her own private practice. Katy has established a relationship with CMU through supervision of Music Therapy practicum students and interns. She has also been invited to CMU for occasional guest lectures. Katy has made television appearances on CBC Health Matters, Shaw Cable and Breakfast Television. She has presented numerous workshops and been featured in magazine and newspaper articles.

Rebecca Klassen-Wiebe is a senior student at Canadian Mennonite University, currently in her third year of a Bachelor of Music Piano Performance degree. There she has had a great deal of experience through lessons with Dr. Cheryl Pauls, collaborating with instrumentalists and choirs and playing for operas.

This past year she was the second place winner of the Verna Mae Janzen performance competition. Rebecca has loved music from a young age when she was enrolled in the Orff program and then started piano lessons. She enjoys collaborating with instrumentalists and choirs, something that began in high school and has continued to grow since then. Along with this passion for music, Rebecca loves working with children. The past five years Rebecca has spent her summers counselling children at camp. She has been active in leading music at camp as well as in her own congregation.

Together with those same artistic friends from CMU, she participated in set design and production of the “The Wild Things,” performed at the Winnipeg Fringe Festival 2010. Megan has also exhibited her work at a number of galleries in Winnipeg.

She has a particular interest and experience in advanced piano repertoire and accompaniment skills. In her spare time, Helen is an enthusiastic supporter and board member of the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra.

Graeme Leaver is a fourth year Bachelor of Music student at Canadian Mennonite University. He has studied the piano with Dr. Cheryl Pauls, Maximilian Fleischmann and Donna Kroeker as well as jazz piano with Will Bonness and Beverly Aronovitch.

Graeme began teaching piano in 2007 with the Grace Notes Volunteer Program. He teaches piano and music theory to High School and Elementary School students. Graeme has played piano with several large jazz bands as well as in small jazz ensembles. He has collaborated with singers, instrumentalists and choirs. Following the completion of his Bachelors Degree, Graeme plans to pursue graduate studies in composition.

Todd has been teaching privately, and as a clinician, for many years now and enjoys the process of working with fellow musicians and music lovers. Todd received his BMus from McGill University in 1998 in French Horn Performance.

In 1981 Michelle moved to Daytona Beach, Florida to study with the world renowned British flutist Geoffrey Gilbert who had recently retired there. Dr. Miller has also played in masterclasses with Jean Pierre Rampal, William Bennett and Peter Lloyd.

In the mid-to-late 80s, Michelle's musical interests expanded to include arts presenting and she joined the staff at Central Florida Cultural Endeavors (CFCE) which remains one of the premiere arts presenting organizations in the southeastern United States. In very short order she became the Director of Operations for CFCE's year round concert presentations. Her primary joy at CFCE was organizing the biennial summer visits with the London Symphony Orchestra. Even now Michelle maintains close ties with numerous members and top administrators of that wonderful orchestra.

Following, what she calls her "years in a suit," Michelle returned to her flute. She packed up her little Toyota and drove cross country to Tucson, Arizona where she attended the University of Arizona. At the U. of A. Michelle not only continued her study of the flute, she discovered a passion for music history. For five years she studied with the internationally acclaimed French Baroque specialist, Prof. James R. Anthony. Michelle received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in 1992.

Michelle's flute career has been one of a free-lance flutist from the word GO! She has played with numerous orchestras, chamber ensembles and in countless solo recitals. With various groups (including the famous Mantovani Orchestra) Michelle has performed throughout the USA, Mexico, Central America and extensively in the Orient.

Currently Michelle lives in Winnipeg with her husband, Shawn, and her daughter, Rielle. She maintains a private flute studio, teaches flute and flute ensemble at CMU, enjoys presenting master classes and continues her principal flute position in Florida with the Seaside Music Theater Orchestra.

She has had the privilege of studying with several national and internationally renowned musicians including Tracy Dahl, Sophie Roland, and Valdine Anderson.

Judith has performed locally with Flipside Opera and with the Manitoba Opera Chorus. She has also performed with Kitchener Opera, University of Western Opera, and Opera Nuova. Judith is proud to be a part of the dynamic faculty at CSMA and is committed to sharing her knowledge of vocal technique and performance to her students.

As part of her music therapy training, Rachelle has studied a variety of music therapy methods and worked as a practicum student with a variety of specialized populations, including older adults, children with profound developmental delays, and adolescents with mental illness. She has studied a variety of music therapy methods and theories. Rachelle has volunteered at L'arche programs for adults and children with various developmental delays.

Catherine Richard is currently in a Bachelor of Music degree program in Piano Performance at CMU. Catherine completed her Grade 10 RCM exam at the age of 16, with first class honours.

Studying piano has given Catherine a great love and appreciation for music, qualities which she endeavours to pass onto her students. Outside of teaching, Catherine serves as a pianist in various musical settings such as university credit recitals, weddings, choir concerts and other festivals and competitions.

She currently studies violin with Elation Pauls, and regularly plays at various fundraising, church, and other functions, often collaborating with members of her family.

Lisa graduated from CMU with her Bachelor of Music Therapy in 2007. She completed a 1000 hour internship at Riverview Health Centre, which required the application of music therapy for diverse needs including: Alzheimer's/dementia, stroke, traumatic brain injury, and respiratory disease.

She went on to receive a Young Entrepreneurs Program Grant, and began a private practice through which has delivered music therapy and music education services in day programs for adults with developmental disabilities, a personal care home, day cares, and a music school. Lisa has gained supervision experience through working with practicum students and an intern from CMU. Beginning a private practice has also given her opportunities to make presentations in a variety of settings about the benefits of music therapy, and inclusion of special needs children in music education classes. Lisa has volunteered at Church of the Rock as a buddy for children with special needs.

Lisa's motivating desire is that individuals with special needs be freed to fulfill their potential, and welcomed and accepted into community.

Wiebe's highest profile work of art to date is The Pigeon King, a nine-foot public stature that stands in front of the AirCanada building on Carlton St. in Winnipeg, MB. A graduate of The University of Manitoba Bachelor of Fine Art's Honours degree, Wiebe has a long history of working with children in camp and daycare settings as well as in public schools and inner-city community centres. Most recently he has taught mixed-media art for children at the Winnipeg Art Gallery.

Karis has sung solo soprano roles of most major oratorios in both North America and Europe. including Bach's Christmas Oratorio, St. Matthew's and St. John's Passion. On the German stage she has performed such opera roles as Sophie, Musetta, and Konstanze. Karis is known for her "passionate interpretation." (Offenbach-Post) and "extravagant sensitivity" (Muenchner Merkur). She returned to Winnipeg in 2005 after singing and teaching voice for 11 years in Germany. She presently resides in Riverview with her husband, cellist Blair Burns, and boys Samuel and Simon.
