Faculty Position, Assistant or Associate Position - Psychology
Full-time, Tenure-track, start date July 1, 2018

We seek individuals who have the capacity to help to build an exciting and growing Psychology program, while contributing complementary strengths to interdisciplinary programs. Welcome areas of specialization include, but are not limited to, community psychology, cultural psychology, developmental psychology, or social psychology.

We will also consider applications from individuals in closely related disciplines, such as sociology, peace and conflict studies, or science and technology studies, if those individuals engage deeply with psychology theoretically and methodologically.

CMU is a liberal arts university rooted in the Mennonite tradition, a Christian standpoint emphasizing peace and community service. We encourage faculty to teach and pursue research engaging with this standpoint and set of emphases. Applicants should hold a PhD or be near completion of their doctorate, have a solid theoretical and methodological background, a strong record of scholarly research, and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching.

Interested candidates should submit: a letter of application; a curriculum vitae; a statement of teaching philosophy; a research statement; a statement on how their faith commitment would contribute to teaching and scholarship at CMU; evidence of teaching effectiveness; and contact information for three references.

Subject to final budgetary approval, the appointment will begin July 1, 2018. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Review of applications will begin December 15, 2017, and will continue until the position is filled.
