Jennifer Lin is Assistant Professor and Director of the Music Therapy Program at CMU. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music, a Master of Music in Flute Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and a Master of Arts in Music Therapy from New York University. Jennifer is an American Board Certified (MT-BC) and a Canadian Accredited (MTA) Music Therapist. As one of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Association for Music Therapy (CAMT), Jennifer holds the position of Publications Chair. She also serves as the Clinical Editor of the CAMT magazine, Ensemble.
Her clinical experience encompasses a wide range of areas. It includes working with individuals under medical, geriatric, and psychiatric care, as well as individuals with special and specific needs to address and/or seek a creative approach to their personal development. In addition to her private practice, Jennifer has also volunteered her services to immigrant communities and medical organizations including Formosa Cancer Foundation and Sun Yat-Sen Cancer Center in Taiwan.
Prior to pursuing her music therapy training, Jennifer had a distinguished career as an established and active concert flutist. She has performed throughout the United States, Canada, Italy, and Taiwan. Her newspaper, television, and radio appearances include The Chautauquan Daily (New York), Era News (Taiwan), and I.C. Station (Taiwan). Jennifer taught flute at Aletheia University prior to appointment at CMU.
