Finacial Aid - MB Tax Credits

Here’s good news: If you are from Manitoba, and you stay in the province after graduation, you can receive more in tax credits than you paid in tuition (if federal tax credits are counted) to attend CMU.

If you are from another province, and you choose to make Manitoba your home after graduating (it happens!), you can receive up to $25,000 in tuition tax credits.

Not only do you get a top-quality education at CMU, you can pretty much get it for free through this new program (considering other tax breaks available to students). It’s the most generous program of its kind in Canada.

In order to qualify for the program, you must graduate after January 1, 2007. The credits are worth up to 60 per cent of your tuition payments, to a maximum of $2,500 a year and $25,000 over a lifetime. Most students would receive the credits at a rate of 10 percent a year over six years.
