New Music CD Features CMU Ensembles

A great gift for Christmas

Hope, faith, life, love—they are words that tell many stories and are key elements in many songs. Some of those songs are featured on a new CD from CMU titled Hope, Faith, Life, Love.

The CD, which features the CMU Chamber Choir, Singers and Men’s and Women’s Chorus, offers a diversity of musical expressions linking hope, faith, life and love to stories and voices of the Christian tradition.

The 19 songs on the CD include selections such as Gloria from Missa Kenya (Paul Basler ); Adonai, Adonai (Srul Irving Glick); Prelude and Fugue (J.S. Bach); Eine Kleine Gigue (Mozart); and Do Not Let Your Hearts be Troubled (Paul McKay).

The CD is available from the CMU bookstore, McNally Robinsons in Winnipeg (Grant Park location) and Mennonite Publishing Network. Cost is $18, plus taxes and shipping (if ordered on-line). 

This CD is part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of CFAM Radio 950. It was made possible by Elmer Hildebrand, founder and owner of Golden West Radio.

CMU's music program is known nationally for its teaching excellence, academic quality and exceptional alumni. CMU music ensembles participate in a variety of concert and worship settings, reflecting the demanding academic curriculum and the breadth of styles that encompass many traditions and cultures. CMU Choral Ensembles regularly sing together with other university and community choirs, perform annually with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and travel on annual choir tours across Canada and throughout the northern U.S.
