Why complete a B.A. with a major in Mathematics?
A degree in Mathematics provides a solid foundation in analytical reasoning and problem solving. These are valuable skills for any area of employment or vocation, but especially so in science, engineering, computer programming, finance, and research. A mathematics major is also an excellent stepping stone into professional programs in health or education.

Why complete a four-year rather than a three-year degree?
The four-year degree permits you to apply for admission to Master's programs in Mathematics. It offers more space for electives, which means you can readily include a minor in a second field of interest. The four-year degree is becoming the standard undergraduate expectation across North America.

Why choose a minor in Mathematics?
The minor requires 18 credit hours and can fit alongside a major in any field, whether in the three-year or the four-year Bachelor of Arts.  Because mathematics is foundational to so much of our science and technology, math literacy is a crucial part of understanding your place in this world. You will also develop reasoning and problem solving skills that can assist you in any other disciplinary field. While math is indispensible in Science, it is no less valuable in English, Psychology, Business, Philosophy, Theology, etc.
