Note the following important information:

• If a student withdraws from a course (other than an Individual Applied Music course) before its completion, CMU will refund the tuition fee paid for that course during the semester of withdrawal according to the schedule below.
• Students who wish to withdraw from a course must complete and submit a Course Change Form. Ceasing to attend classes or not paying for the class does not constitute an official withdrawal and may result in the student receiving a failing grade for the course.
• For course corrections made after the last day to make course changes, tuition will be refunded but students will be charged a 25% administrative fee.
• Student Services Fees will not be refunded after the last date to receive 100% tuition refund
• Students who withdraw from an applied music course
  

  • before the last day to make courses changes and at least twenty-four hours before the first lesson will receive a full refund.
  • within three days after the first lesson will receive a 90% refund.
  • more than three days after their first lesson will not normally receive a refund.

• A student may withdraw from an applied music course at the end of the first semester without financial penalty, provided the student notifies the Registrar in writing before November 30th.

Refund Schedule 2011-12:
September 8 to 18 100% refund for fall courses
September 19 to October 3 75% refund for fall courses
October 4 to 17 50% refund for fall courses
October 18 to 31 25% refund for fall courses
November 1 and thereafter 0% refund for fall courses

January 4 to 12 100% refund for winter courses
January 13 to 27 75% refund for winter courses
January 28 to February 10 50% refund for winter courses
February 11 to 24 25% refund for winter courses
February 25 and thereafter 0% refund for winter courses

Refund Schedule 2012-13:
September 6 to 17, 100% refund for fall courses
September 18 to October 2, 75% refund for fall courses
October 3 to 16, 50% refund for fall courses
October 17 to 31, 25% refund for fall courses
November 1 and thereafter, 0% refund for fall courses

January 7 to 15, 100% refund for winter courses
January 16 to 29, 75% refund for winter courses
January 30 to February 12, 50% refund for winter courses
February 13 to 26, 25% refund for winter courses
February 27 and thereafter, 0% refund for winter courses
