Policies & Procedures
PLEASE READ THE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES CAREFULLY, SINCE ENROLLMENT IN AND PAYMENT FOR THE TOUR CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF THE TOUR CONDITIONS.
Group Size:
The maximum number of participants is 35. If there are fewer than 31 participants, the tour cost will be increased by $165.00.
Included in the Tour:
• All gratuities to drivers and guides. Tips associated with porterage at the hotels where available, meal gratuities where applicable (approximately $250.00 per person)
• All ground transportation by deluxe motor coach, transfers to and from hotels and airports unless the participant’s travel arrangements are different from those of the group.
• Extensive sightseeing throughout; all entrance fees to sites and museums noted in the itinerary, except for free days
• Services of English-speaking local guides for visiting sites. Special lectures and discussions with local residents as per itinerary
• Accommodations in hotels, kibbutzim, or Christian guesthouses, with two persons sharing a twin bedroom with private bath. A limited number of single rooms are available (single supplement $940.00)
• Two meals per day (breakfast and supper). Coffee and tea are served at breakfast only
• Jordan departure tax
Not included:
• Airfare. Information will be provided on a group fare that will be available. The group fare will be the basis for the arrival and departure times and airport-hotel transfer times. For those travelling with the group fare, excess baggage fees or other additional fees, taxes, and surcharges are not included.
• Cost of passports, insurance premiums,
• All beverages other than coffee/tea at breakfast
• Lunches
• Sightseeing items not listed in the itinerary
• Passport fees. No visa is required for Canadian citizens. Passport must be valid for six months after scheduled return to Canada.
• Excess baggage charges, where applicable
• Medical Travel insurance (required) and/or Trip Cancellation/Interruption insurance.
• Departure and arrival fees not noted in the Inclusions above
Financial Information and Payment Schedule:
The total cost of the tour is CDN $3660.00 (excluding airfare and exclusions noted above). The price of the tour is based on a minimum of 31 participants. Should there be fewer than 31 participants, the total cost will be increased by $165.00. A single supplement is available for $940.00
A deposit of $500.00, which will be credited toward the total cost of the tour, is required for each participant by December 15, 2011. Space is limited and earlier reservations are encouraged to secure a place on the tour. Final payment is due by January 13, 2012. All cheques should be made payable to “Canadian Mennonite University.” Final payment by credit card can be made by calling the CMU Finance Office at 204-487-3300 or 1-877-231-4570
Participants purchasing airline tickets at the group rate (TBA) will be informed of the timeline and process for payment.
Students taking the tour for academic credit (3 credit hours) must also register for the course through the Registrar’s office at Canadian Mennonite University. Tuition fees ($615.00) are included in the cost of the tour.
Participants not taking the tour for academic credit: the Audit fee ($308.00) is included in the cost of the tour. Auditing participants receive a donation receipt for $307.00.
Proof of Citizenship
Participants must hold a current passport that is valid for 6 months following the travel dates. Names on airline tickets must appear as shown on passports.
Cancellation and Refund Policy:
Cancellations must be in writing.
(1) Land Costs: except for an administrative fee of $200.00, all land costs are fully refundable up to 90 days prior to departure (January 30, 2012). Tour members who cancel after that date for any reason, including medical reasons, are subject to the following cancellation fees: 90-60 days prior to departure 75% of the total tour cost; less than 60 days prior to departure 100% of tour cost.
(2) Airline tickets (if purchased through CMU’s agent) will be issued well in
advance and upon receipt of final payment for the airfare. Cancellation policy follows protocol of the airline. Trip Cancellation and Interruption insurance is advised.
Name changes:
Once ticketed, a name change can only be done by the airline if the name is not the same as passport, in which case a correction fee of $100.00 will apply. Complete name change is a cancellation and penalty is total non-refundable amount of the fare.
Responsibility:
CMU and its Agents assume no liability or responsibility for any injuries or loss of property, accident, delay, changes in schedule or itinerary or incidental damages, occasioned by circumstances beyond the control of CMU or by any person or reason whatsoever, including but not limited to default or omission of and by any third party providing services or facilities related to or included in this tour or any part thereof or in arranging for same. The IATA carriers, and other transportation companies whose services are featured in these tours are not to be held responsible for any act, omission or event during the time the passengers are not on board their respective conveyance. The passage contract in use by these companies, when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the companies and the purchaser of these tours and/or passenger, and CMU assumes no liability or responsibility in connection therewith.
