Dori and her colleagues in the Development Department invite people to invest in the mission of CMU. She is grateful for every donor and the way their stories of generosity intersect with CMU.

Dori finds it hard to answer the question, "Where are you from?" having been born in Japan and lived in three Canadian provinces and three U.S. states. She did spend enough time in a couple of places to finish an undergraduate degree in cultural anthropology and a Masters of Divinity. In her varied working life, Dori has been privileged to learn about restorative justice, pastoral leadership, and generosity planning. She joined the CMU team in the spring of 2017.

"We all want to see a world of more compassion, grace, and ability to live better together, and CMU nurtures that kind of passion," says Dori. "CMU is one of those places where our donors can with their generosity express their hope realized."

Outside of work, Dori and her husband, Rick, who are transplanted in Winnipeg, love long road trips often to visit family punctuated by camping in their Tow-ster (a Rick original hand-made pop-up trailer). Seasonally, Dori spends as much time as she can in the garden or knitting and reading. Their two children are CMU alumni: Raya ('13) and Jonas ('16).
