School of Music

Why Major in Music?

Can you imagine how music might offer a vision of beauty in a broken world, help us hear the voices of those different from ourselves, transform us, and be seen as a gift of God?

Music studies balance rigorous discipline alongside creative imagination, and the urge for artistic excellence and passion alongside compassion and sensitivity to human need.

Concentrations include performance, music education, musicology, music ministry, and comprehensive studies.

Hear it from a student: Anna Bigland-Pritcharad is a music student nearing the end of a double-major in performance and music ministry. Here, she sits down with Nolan Kehler of Face2Face, a radio series produced by the 2013/2014 Communications and Media Workshop class, to talk about how these two concentrations intersect for her.
