Indigenous Students

CMU offers a $3000 Indigenous Student Bursary each year to two new incoming students that qualify. Qualifications include submitting a 500-word essay, a letter of nomination, and a high school minimum average of 75%. The application form and all further details can be found here. CMU also has bursaries for returning students in financial need. These must be applied for using the CMU bursary application by July 20 for fall semester and by November 10 for winter semester.

Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) provides funding to First Nations and Band Councils or their education authority organizations that administer the Post-secondary Student Support Program (PSSSP) for status First Nation members residing both on—and off—reserve.

Assistance may be available to status and treaty First Nations and Inuit who have been accepted into CMU and who have been resident in Canada for 12 consecutive months.
