All vehicles belonging to students must be registered with CMU and display a parking pass in the car window. Students with physical disabilities will be given special consideration in the assignment of parking spaces.
The parking pass fees cover the use of outlets and snow clearing. Any person parking a vehicle on campus in contravention of the parking policy may be subject to a fine or have their vehicle towed, or both.
The Marpeck Commons parking lot is reserved for Folio Café and CommonWord customers only. All students are required to park in designated parking lots (see below).
All dormitory and apartment students who bring a car onto campus are required to purchase a full parking pass (includes power outlet). Scramble parking is available in Lot P west of the residences.
All commuter students who bring a car onto campus are required to purchase a parking pass. The cost of the parking pass is calculated based on the declared number of courses the student expects to enrol in for the year (courses subsequently added are expected to be declared). Scramble parking is available for commuters in Lot A on north side.
Sanctoral Cycle is a member owned co-op and resource hub for your cycling needs at CMU. The co-op is located in the basement on the north side. Membership gives access to tools, workspace, parts, accessories (lube, tubes, chains, etc.), education on bike maintenance, and a 15% discount off parts and accessories at the Olympia Cycle and Ski shop at 1813 Portage Ave. Memberships are $10 for students; $20 for faculty/staff/alumni. Residence students must store their bikes in the bike shed near Katherine Friesen Apartments. Bikes are not allowed inside any dorm or apartment buildings. There is a $30 fee for storage with an additional $20 key deposit, which is refundable when the key is returned at the end of April. When students register their bike, they will receive a key and a tag that must be affixed to the bike. See south side reception for a bike shed key.
CMU is located on bus route 65/66/95. Students may purchase a student bus pass or bus tickets at the CommonWord bookstore. A student ID card must be shown in order to purchase student bus passes. Information on bus routes and schedules is available at: winnipegtransit.com/en/navigo.
CMU only allows students to use CMU vehicles for institutional activities and approved Student Council activities. All use of vehicles is subject to a per kilometre rate which will be charged to the group or department sponsoring the event. Vehicle request forms are available from the south side receptionist and must be signed by a member of Student Life staff. If possible, vehicle request forms should be completed 2 weeks in advance to ensure that vehicles are available.
CMU drivers must present a copy of their driver's license, along with a copy of their driver's abstract to the south side receptionist prior to being approved to drive CMU vehicles.
