Canadian Mennonite University

PianoLab

July 20–24, 2026

Summer learning is back at the CSMA! Designed by Manitoban pianists Everett Hopfner, Madeline Hildebrand, and Theresa Thordarson, PianoLab is a great fit for students working in a method series or early RCM levels. Campers will participate in ensemble playing, creative music discovery, small-group classes, individual practice time, and guest-led workshops—focusing on fun and surprising topics like songwriting and instrument building! With daily recreation, games, and social time built in, students balance music-making with meaningful social connection.

PianoLab is designed to keep students feeling motivated and excited about playing the piano in a supportive community of peers. This summer camp offers a boost of confidence and encouragement during a time when most students have paused regular weekly lessons. The week includes a faculty performance and student concert.

PianoLab is recruiting interns! Senior piano students aged 16–17 are invited to apply to assist with daily camp operations and gain valuable leadership experience. Email csma:@:cmu.ca to inquire about a PianoLab internship.
