Mini U offers two themed day camps, each designed to combine hands-on learning with classic summer fun. Camps run in one-week sessions, and families may register for multiple weeks.
The Discovery Lab
A science-focused summer adventure
The Discovery Lab is a weeklong science camp where curiosity takes centre stage. Campers explore daily science themes through hands-on experiments, STEM challenges, outdoor exploration, and creative projects.
Alongside science activities, campers enjoy:
- Games and team-building activities
- Arts and crafts
- Outdoor play and recreation
- Water activities
The Discovery Lab blends learning with fun, helping campers build problem-solving skills, confidence, and friendships.
The Creative Legends
An arts-focused summer experience
Creative Legends invites campers to explore painting, drawing, sculpture, music, drama, and more in a fun, supportive environment. Each day includes hands-on art projects paired with classic camp activities.
Campers also enjoy:
- Games and team challenges
- Outdoor activities
- Arts and crafts
- Water play
Creative Legends encourages self-expression, collaboration, and confidence, while celebrating each camper's creativity.
Camp Schedule
Mini U runs for six weeks:
- Week 1 (July 13–17): Creative Legends
- Week 2 (July 20–24): Discovery Lab
- Week 3 (July 27–31): Creative Legends
- Week 4 (August 10–14): Discovery Lab
- Week 5 (August 17–21): Creative Legends
- Week 6 (August 24–28): Discovery Lab
Each week offers a full camp experience.
Camp Hours and Location
Camp hours: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Drop-off: 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM
Pick-up: 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM
Camp takes place on the CMU campus at the Assiniboine Castle, 500 Shaftesbury Blvd. Check-in and pick-up occur outdoors when weather permits, or indoors in the Great Hall as needed.
