The Social Science major helps students access the wide range of the Social Sciences in order to develop the ability to critically analyze and synthesize material into interdisciplinary questions on citizenship, multicultural understanding, and community. Students may choose to focus on one of the concentrations listed below, or they may choose to create their own concentration by blending courses that focuses on a theme.

This degree highlights the strength of CMU's offerings in the Social Sciences – Economics, Geography, History, International Development Studies, Peace & Conflict Transformation Studies, Political Studies, Psychology, and Sociology – and experience-based learning through practicum opportunities.
