MULTI SPORT ALL-STAR CAMP
(Boys and Girls Multi-Sport)
August 9-13 Grades 3-5 (Ages 8-11)
Monday to Friday, 9am – 4pm, $179 (lunches included*)
*Nutritious lunches are provided for our full-day All-Star Campers in our University Dining Hall.
Stay active this summer by registering for our full-day All-Star Camp. Our energetic coaching staff of CMU varsity athletes will encourage all our little all-stars to be “the best you can be”, patiently teaching the fundamental skills of volleyball, soccer and basketball, within a supportive environment that encourages participation, teamwork, sportsmanship and fun. Afternoons will feature an opportunity for you to take your talents to the court and field in our mini-games.
BIG SPIKE VOLLEYBALL CAMP
August 16–20 Grades 6-9 (Ages 11-14)
Monday to Friday, 9am – noon, $99
Jumping with power and swinging with precision are two critical skills that allow an athlete to excel in the sport of volleyball. Hard-work and sportsmanship are likewise vital pieces to making a good team leader – one that can be counted on by their coach and their teammates. At CMU, our university coaches and varsity team members will guide you to improve your passing, coordination, timing and decision-making, as well as the overall development of your abilities to block and play defense, all within the context of learning to have a positive attitude and how to be your best.
BIG GAME BASKETBALL CAMP
August 16–20 Grades 6-9 (Ages 11-14)
Monday to Friday, 1pm – 4pm, $99
Think you got game? Our qualified university coaches will help you develop your overall basketball abilities; coaching you in advanced drills used by CMU’s university-level basketball players to improve your balance, footwork, ball-handling, shooting, passing and rebounding. We will also guide you in the skills that you will need to succeed in your life, as a player and as a person. Retired NBA player Bill Bradley once said, “Leadership is unlocking a person’s potential to become better.” It is our goal to unlock your potential and to make you and your teammates the best you can be.

What does it take to be successful in sport? Of course it takes ability. Our coaching staff featuring former university and national team members will help you refine your technical skills, and equip you with tools that can improve your game. It also takes commitment, dedication, mental preparation, a strong work-ethic, focus, and the ability to win graciously and accept defeat. These are the intangible quality that separate athletes and teammates from GREAT athletes and teammates.
At CMU Elite Camps, a unique emphasis is placed these pieces. Short seminars and exercises focused on the development of these important characteristics of successful athletes will help you unlock your full potential.

2010 COACHING STAFF
Andrea Charbonneau (Coaching Profile)
As an athlete, Charbonneau led the University of Winnipeg to a National silver medal in 2003 and was selected to the Canadian National women’s team in 2001 and 2002. Upon graduation, she played professionally in France.
Charbonneau currently serves as a head coach of team Manitoba; helping teach young players to unlock their full potential.
Now in her third year as the head coach of the CMU Blazers, Andrea has won back-to-back MCAC championships in 2008 and 2009 and has her team sitting comfortably in first place again in 2010.
Darcy Coss (Coaching Profile)
Recognized as one of the best pure-shooters in the Manitoba, Coss comes to CMU Sports Camps with an exceptional basketball playing resume. A stand-out university athlete and a three-year captain with the Manitoba Bisons men’s basketball team, Darcy is a true team leader and knows what it takes to succeed on the court and in life. “Winning isn’t about the final score in a game,” says Coss, “Winning is the effort put in to playing your best and being your best.”
Coss is in his first year as head coach of the CMU Men’s Basketball team and has established a winning formula with his players.
Mark Kliewer (Coaching Profile)
During his time at the helm of the CMU men’s volleyball, Kliewer has shown an ability to coach the best out of his varsity athletes over the past four years. Mark has been equally successful when working with younger athletes. In the summers of 2008 and 2009, Mark served as the director of CMU Sports Camps and was a head coach with Team Manitoba.
Evelyn Kampen (Coaching Profile)
Kampen headlined women’s college volleyball in Manitoba in 2010. The 5’11 power-hitter transfer to CMU after two seasons with Trinity Western in 2009, leading the Blazers to a undefeated MCAC season and their third consecutive conference championship. In addition, Evelyn was selected 2010 Regular Season and Playoff MVP.
Kathleen Vitt (Coaching Profile)
After spending a year on a practicum assignment in Bolivia, setter Kathleen Vitt returned to the court for the CMU women’s volleyball team in 2009 to captain the talented side. Kathleen is not only counted on for her quickness and athletic ability, but also for her excellence in leadership.
