Faculty Position in Business

Canadian Mennonite University invites applications for a full-time position in the newly formed Redekop School of Business in the area of Management. Applicants’ specialties should include one or more of the following: Human Resources, Operation, Strategy, Business Policy, Entrepreneurship and Marketing. The successful candidate will possess or be near completion of a PhD or DBA or have a MBA with 5 years of relevant experience in management. The capacity to teach in multiple areas of interest and to develop industry connections would be beneficial.

Faculty Position in Ministry Studies

A Joint-Appointment of Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary Canada and Canadian Mennonite University

Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary Canada (MBBS Canada) and Canadian Mennonite University (CMU) invite applications for a full-time faculty position in Ministry Studies at the CMU campus in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The position involves teaching Christian ministry preparation courses that are part of the CMU graduate programs.

The successful candidate will have experience in pastoral ministry, a doctoral degree (or a degree in process) in the specified teaching area, be committed to evangelical-Anabaptist theology as expressed in the Mennonite Brethren Confession of Faith, be a member of (or willing to become a member of) a Mennonite Brethren church, and be able to work collegially within an inter-Mennonite context. Specific areas of teaching expertise could include leadership development, pastoral care and counselling, spiritual formation, and ministry supervision.

Research Grants Facilitator

Canadian Mennonite University is seeking a research grants facilitator who will report to the Vice President Academic. The position involves assisting faculty in identifying funding sources; facilitating the development and submission of research proposals to SSHRC and other agencies; providing professional development sessions for faculty regarding SSHRC programs and other opportunities for external funding; administering funds received from external granting agencies, (SSHRC, IDRC, others)  authorizing reimbursements and other payments for research expenses, preparing financial reports to and acting as administrative liaison to the external agencies; assisting the VP Academic in the development of funding proposals in support of the University.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Master’s degree in the Humanities or Social Sciences with a Research Component
  • The ability to address topics from a range of disciplines in the humanities and social sciences
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with report writing and the preparation of research grants
  • Knowledge of SSHRC processes and programs

This position will commence as soon as possible and is a .6 FTE (22.5 hours per week) part-time position. Salary range is $21,815 to $26,313 commensurate with qualifications and experience. CMU offers a comprehensive benefit package with this position.

Web Designer

Half-time position

Canadian Mennonite University in Winnipeg, Manitoba invites applications for the position of CMU Web Designer. Reporting to the Director of Communications and Marketing, the Web Designer is responsible for developing and implementing an effective online presence for CMU, including web programming, web content development, online branding, and social media initiatives in support of CMU's institutional goals. Responsibilities

  • responsible for reflecting CMU's vision, branding, and programs to the public and supporting the university through online initiatives
  • responsible for maintaining and improving CMU's main website (www.cmu.ca)as well as additional websites of its college and schools
  • will periodically upgrade the CMU websites through redesign and rebuild processes
  • implements social media initiatives for the institution (Facebook, Twitter, RSS feeds, Youtube, etc.)
  • regularly reviews web analytics, prepares department reports, and helps set future strategies as regards SEO and SEM
  • part of the Communications & Marketing team, participating in strategic planning sessions, meeting with and assisting university departments, and contributing to institutional goals

Technical Skills

  • design, build, and maintain websites using HTML, CSS, Dreamweaver Templates
  • work in a Mac OS/X environment and provide daily updates utilizing Dreamweaver and WordPress
  • familiar with Adobe Creative Suite, as well as Apple iPhoto, Microsoft Entourage, Microsoft Office, Google Picasa, and Google Analytics

Qualifications

  • brings proven experience in planning and implementing websites and possesses good interpersonal, organizational, and communications skills
  • will have a degree or diploma in web development, or a combination of equivalent training and experience
  • as a team player, works collaboratively, possesses good interpersonal, organizational, and communications skills, and is committed to the vision and mission of CMU
