Handel’s Messiah | CMU Festival Chorus & the WSO

Friday, December 15, 2023 – 7:30 PM
Saturday, December 16, 2023 – 7:30 PM

Knox United Church (400 Edmonton St.)

Written in just three weeks, Handel’s powerful and beloved oratorio has withstood the test of time. Anytime orchestras and choirs perform this work during the holidays, halls around the world are sold out. Messiah is, in fact, the only composition of its time to be performed continuously since its premiere in Dublin in 1742.

With Winnipeg’s beautiful Knox United Church as the backdrop, Violons de Roy’s Mathieu Lussier leads the WSO along with the CMU Festival Chorus in the story of the redemption of mankind. With a narrative so rich in complex human themes and emotions, Messiah can be appreciated by anyone, regardless of belief or creed.

Make this year’s holidays your most memorable with the WSO, the CMU Festival Chorus and the soaring voices of Anne-Marie Macintosh, Deepa Johnny, Kyle Briscoe, and Vartan Gabrielian in Handel’s most popular and enduring work.
