Annual Fund
The CMU Annual Fund provides for the essential, but easy to overlook, needs of the university: heat, light, water, maintenance, equipment and the salaries of faculty and staff. It's everything from the cheery "Hello!" you hear from the receptionist when you call the university, to the professor teaching a course, to the people who recruit students or raise funds or to repairing the school's vans so the basketball team can get to its next game. It's vital, in other words, and so is your support to this all-purpose Fund.
Library
The library is the heart of any university. The CMU Library contains more than 100,000 items-books, CDs, periodicals, commentaries and journals. In addition, members of the community are also invited to use the library.
Funds donated to the library are used to pay for salaries, books, book repairs, periodical and journal subscriptions and other things that keep CMU's heart healthy. The items below can help guide your giving:
• $40 purchases a library book (based on the average cost of one book)
• $120 buys a journal subscription (based on the average cost of one subscription)
• $3,500 pays for an electronic resource that indexes hundreds of journals.
There will be two more pages coming for the links on the right hand side: Scholarships and bursaries and a code of ethics.
