For Parents - Welcome

Download the 2012-13 Parents Guide (PDF)

As parents of a student at CMU, we know what it’s like to see your son or daughter head off to university. It’s a big step—for them and for you. That’s why we’re glad that CMU has made a commitment to staying in touch with parents while their children are at the university. We would like to take this opportunity to encourage you to join us in “staying connected” in two very important ways.

As a parent, you can receive the Blazer, CMU’s official publication. In it you will find reflections and news about the university that can help you stay abreast of happenings, and also give you some insight into what faculty and staff are thinking about the mission and direction of the school.
To sign up, email Joyce Friesen at jfriesen@cmu.ca and give her your mailing address.

By the way, grandparents and other relatives are also welcome to get the Blazer or be part of the e-mail list! We know that they also keep their grandchildren in their prayers, and may wish to pray for them while they are at CMU.
On the left are some links to pages containing more information about life for your son or daughter at CMU.

If you cannot find an answer to your question there, please email Marilyn Peters Kliewer at mkliewer@cmu.ca, Dean of Student Life, or call her at 1. 877.231.4570 or 487.3300 (Winnipeg).

The Dokes with their daughter, Katie
Again, welcome to the CMU family! We are so glad our daughter is at CMU. We appreciate CMU’s emphasis on community life, along with the positive environment and excellent academics. We have been impressed by her classroom experiences, and are encouraged by CMU’s commitment to not only provide quality Christian university education, but also to give students opportunities to live out their faith in everyday life. We also feel good about the friendships she has developed over the years. We hope you feel the same way, too!
