Canadian Mennonite University

Why CMU?

CMU is a Christian university, founded by and supported by Mennonite churches. The Biblical and Theological Studies (BTS) requirement within CMU's Core Curriculum reflects CMU's identity as a Christian university.

Through course work in BTS, students gain a foundational grasp of the story, language, and content of the Christian faith.

CMU seeks to foster dialogue between Biblical and Theological Studies and other academic disciplines, between the Anabaptist/Mennonite tradition and the diversity of Christian traditions, and between Christian thought and the variety of worldviews.

Biblical and Theological Studies will prepare students to live as Christians in their chosen careers. A major in this area will prepare students for various ministries within the church or with church-related organizations.

Office of Ministry Inquiry

CMU's Office of Ministry provides undergraduate and graduate students with an opportunity to experience a process of discernment around their calling, interests, skills, and potential vocations in congregational ministries.
