Build Skills. Earn Income. Contribute to Community.
CMU student employment is a great way to earn income while staying focused on your studies. These part-time positions are designed to fit with your academic schedule, helping you manage coursework while providing valuable experience and financial assistance.
These are term positions, usually running from September to April, with hours varying by role and start and end dates depending on the position. Over 100 part-time roles are available each year to full-time CMU students. Working on campus offers opportunities for experience-based and active learning, allowing you to build skills, explore interests, and apply what you’re learning in class. It’s also a chance to connect with peers, staff, and faculty in new and meaningful ways, participating in invitational community and supporting generous hospitality through your everyday work.
Important Notes:
Positions are offered as term contracts. If you wish to be considered for a job you currently hold or have held, you must reapply—positions are not automatically renewed.
If you submit more than one application, only the most recent one will be kept on file.
Get started: Review available positions and submit your application with a résumé.
11 summer jobs are usually available to CMU students. All positions are for four months (May–August). The applications for an upcoming summer are usually available from February to early-March. Information for Current Students can be found on the Student Hub.
CMU hosts an online job board for CMU students and alumni. It is updated regularly with new opportunities, near and far. If you are an employer and want to post a job, please submit the opportunity through the Job Board Hosted by the CMU posting page.
