Position Overview:
The AIA staff member is responsible for engaging AIA alumni who have experienced our ministry first hand in the past. The most important aspect of this role is relationship building but the secondary hope is that we can invite alumni to give to AIA. Success in this role is establishing and strengthening relationships that lead to volunteers and donors.
In this role, you will be responsible to achieve the following:
1. Alumni feel engaged and connected with AIA for years following their graduation from post-secondary.
• Provide an opportunity to journey with those who want to re-engage with AIA
• Provide opportunities to participate in different AIA events (overseas tours, NTC, Grey Cup, Camps/Clubs)
• Encourage their faith through sharing encouraging stories
• Recruit for key roles that AIA needs to fill
2. Work with the AIA donor development team to identify potential donors
• Through building relationships with AIA alumni, you will identify those who have the interest and capacity to give financially
• Implement alumni specific initiatives
• Bring fresh alumni engagement ideas to the table in collaboration with with the donor development team
3. Build strong working relationships with AIA staff to identify alumni to engage with
• Ensure good communication with AIA divisional leaders so that alumni relationships are being stewarded well
Education and Experience:
• You have university degree or equivalent
• You have experience with managing projects and juggling multiple priorities
• You have experience with Athletes in Action and understand who we are (an asset but not necessary)

During the campus season this role consists of helping those in varsity athletics discover Jesus, grow in their faith, develop their unique potential and put their faith into action as they impact the world.
During the camp season this role consists of creating spaces for young children to hear and know Jesus through the implementation of summer sport camps with partnering churches in the area. These sports include soccer, basketball, volleyball and multi-sport. Through their position, coaches will engage with athletes from the grassroots level, all the way to competitive athletes at the end of their high school careers. Coaches will be expected to combat negative views of sport culture with the gospel, while inspiring churches to reach their local community.
Primary Objectives:
1. Share the gospel and disciple to deeper maturity student athletes on their faith journey
• In partnership with AthleteConnexion and working alongside your director, provide care for athletes through discipleship and evangelism opportunities.
• Equip students to become spiritual leaders in training how to share their faith, identify gifts for kingdom impact and how to live out their Christian faith.
• Assist with and attend National Training Camp, Retreat, and campus team meetings
2. Intentionally live out your faith and share your testimony to a variety of people
• Apply age and skill appropriate teaching techniques for sport specific skills and physical literacy.
• Work closely with the Regional Director, coaching team, church volunteers and additional AIA staff to ensure the children are cared for, the community is reached and the gospel shared.

The AIA Program Coordinator will work to fulfill the mission of Athletes in Action by assisting the Regional

relationships with local churches and community sports groups; the administrative support necessary to carry

Broken Arrow Youth Ranch (BAYR) is a small charitable organization located in the gorgeous hills of Wood Mountain, Saskatchewan, near the Grasslands National Park. BAYR works toward helping struggling families heal and grow. The family of believers that make up BAYR receive children under the age of 18 from these families to come and live on the ranch for a minimum of one year. As the staff pour love, hope and stability into the lives of these children, they also work with their parents and families to network them with resources to help them grow towards healthy reunification. Essential Qualifications
For candidates educated in Quebec: College diploma (or equivalent), and a baccalaureate degree in theology (or equivalent).
Candidates who do not meet these requirements can apply for the Subsidized Education for Entry Level Masters (SEELM) programme to complete graduate level studies and/or gain work experience as a faith/spiritual tradition leader. Selected participants will receive a salary, health care benefits, and paid annual vacation.

Training
After enrolment, Chaplains attend Basic Military Officer Qualification (BMOQ) training at the Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruit School in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, for 12 weeks. Topics covered include general military knowledge, the principles of leadership, regulations and customs of the CAF.
Work Environment
CAF chaplains work in all military environments with members of the the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN), the Canadian Army (CA), the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), and Canadian Special Operations Forces (CANSOF). CAF chaplains work across Canada and may be required to go abroad during operations.

POSITION DETAILS
This full-time, ongoing position reports to the Director of Development and works closely with the entire Development department as well as the Executive & Artistic Directors.
The work environment is in-person at Royal MTC's administrative offices in downtown Winnipeg.
Typical work hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some evening and weekend work required, particularly around opening nights and special events.
A clear Police Information Check is required upon hire.
SALARY AND BENEFITS

Position Overview:
The Elite Initiatives Director is responsible for leading AIA nationally and through serving as part of the National Leadership Team to help people know Jesus and experience his power to change the world through sport. This person is also responsible for the effective leadership and management of the elite initiatives domain. This includes fulfillment and accountability of the ministry plan through OKRs (Objectives and Key Results), oversight of finances (budget, fundraising), visioning for the future, and expanding the current influence of their domain. They will work in conjunction with other AIA leaders to ensure intentional care and development of staff (MPD, training), recruit new staff, and to build strategic partnerships with other ministries and churches.
Specifically, the Elite Initiatives Director will look to increase the influence and impact of chaplaincy within the elite athletic community in Canada. There are many leagues and other opportunities to expand chaplaincy and this leader will envision and work out a plan to step into these areas. Their mandate is also to continue, alter, or transition the current impact our chaplains have in various sport leagues and with national athletes.
Primary Objectives:
1. Provide vision, leadership, and management for AIA chaplaincy with the goal of increasing influence and impact
• Cast vision and dream future possibilities to inspire current team
• Create and implement a ministry plan, including OKRs, for your domain and regularly analyze the effectiveness of the plan and strategies
• Research and identify untapped ministry opportunities in elite sport
• Prototype ideas for solutions to needs within your domain
• Establish partnerships with churches and other organizations
• Recruitment plan in order to expand to new areas of chaplaincy
• Manage the team in order to ensure clear direction and accountability
2. Equip, empower, and enable staff to flourish in their roles
• Work with Director of Staff Development to ensure staff receive ministry training
• Identify leaders who can step into leadership roles
• Provide care and spiritual leadership for staff through working with Director of Staff Care and AIA Managing Director
• Ensure MPD health of entire staff team and provide support and accountability in conjunction with the Director of Staff Partner Development
• Live out Acts 6:4 (Direction, Devotion, Dependence) and equip staff to do the same
3. Contribute to overall success of AIA
• Actively working with other domain leaders to ensure the AIA mission is being fulfilled
• Lead up to AIA leaders and discern what the Spirit is saying for AIA as a whole
• Provide spiritual leadership to AIA as a whole
• Oversight and accountability of finances for your domain including managing budget, raising ministry funds
• Track national measurements and identify whether your domain is effectively fulfilling the mission and living out the AIA values
• Attend national events (Summit, Staff Conference) and support Grey Cup Breakfast and NTC
Education and Experience:
• You have university degree or equivalent
• You have experience leading and managing a team ideally in a ministry setting
• You have experience with chaplaincy (an asset but not mandatory)
• You have experience with fundraising (an asset but not mandatory)

• You have strong leadership skills and are able to lead and manage a team
• You have the ability to lead through influence and get the best out of your team
• You lead spiritually and challenge others to a deeper relationship with Jesus
