Practicum Coordinator

Kayla joined CMU in 2023 as a Practicum Coordinator in the Centre for Career and Vocation. She helps students find work-integrated learning opportunities and reflect on their experiences through the Practicum Seminar course. She loves helping students follow their curiosity and develop tools to navigate life after university. 

Kayla holds an honours degree in Anthropology from the University of Winnipeg and a masters degree in Material Culture Studies from the University of Sheffield. Before joining CMU, she taught anthropology as a sessional instructor at the University of Winnipeg. She also brings experience working in sales and management to her current role, combining academics and workforce experience to help students suceed in their practicum placements and beyond. 

When she’s not on campus, you can often find Kayla at the local vintage shops and bookstores on the hunt for a hidden gem, starting her next DIY project, or enjoying a games night with friends and family.
