Admission Requirements
Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB)

If you have completed Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), or other university-level courses while in high school, you may be eligible for transfer credit or advanced standing at CMU.
To be evaluated for transfer credit or advanced standing, you must submit final official transcripts with final scores or grades. Contact your Admissions Counsellor for more information.
Transfer Credit for AP Courses
CMU recognizes select AP courses for transfer credit. Students must achieve a minimum score of 4 in an AP course to receive transfer credit.
There is no maximum number of AP courses that can be transferred. Students may choose to decline transfer credit from AP courses.
Transfer Credit for IB Courses
CMU recognizes select higher-level and standard-level IB courses for transfer credit. Students must achieve a minimum score of 4 in higher-level courses and a minimum score of 5 in standard-level courses to recieve transfer credit.
There is no maximum number of IB courses that can be transferred. Students may choose to decline transfer credit from IB courses.
