Faspa on the Lawn: The Original Charcuterie
Faspa on the Lawn has been cancelled for Wednesday, June 17. Watch for further notice on upcoming events.

We have learned that June 17 is the date of choice for many year-end family and community events, athletic tournaments, church committees, school trips, grad parties, and the list goes on. Much joy to all at these activities and we’ll see you at CMU another time.
Also, following the storms of last week, the Assiniboine Castle lawn is flooded.
Why: How will the 2020s will go down in history? How might that story and its longstanding effects be shaped through people who are committed to inventiveness and care in their thoughtfulness, and also to sharing not only life's burdens but also its joys and refreshing possibilities? What is the role of CMU in that story?
Who: All friends and alumni of CMU. The event is for people who are new to CMU and curious about what happens through it, those who are longstanding friends with deep investment in the university, and those who see themselves somewhere in the middle.
When: Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at 6:00 PM. Meal served shortly after 6:00 PM with a program and activities to follow.
Where: Lawn south of Assiniboine Castle, 500 Shaftesbury Blvd.
Parking: Assiniboine Castle Parking Lot A, 500 Shaftesbury Blvd. [ map ]
Alternative Transportation: If you'd like to bike to Faspa on the Lawn, a bike rack is located on the north side of Assiniboine Castle by the main entrance or west of Marpeck Commons. If you plan to take Winnipeg Transit, the FX3 bus comes down Grant Avenue and stops right in front of campus. The D19, 70, and 644 buses also stop within a 20-minute walk from campus.
Intergenerational Event: Faspa on the Lawn is intended for community members of all ages, from two weeks to 102 years. Lawn games and a bouncy castle will create a fun evening for all.
Accessibility Considerations: This event will take place mainly on the lawn on the south side of Assiniboine Castle at 500 Shaftesbury Blvd. Accessible parking is available, as are accessible washrooms.
Give Generously, if indeed this is the time to express your generosity through CMU: The generosity of friends and alumni are critical for CMU to live out its educational mission. Guests will be invited to make a one-time gift or to begin a monthly contribution. All donations are cherished and needed to keep tuition affordable and accessible for all students.
