Arts and Science
The interdisciplinary Arts and Science major gives students a foundation in both the Arts and the Sciences, including Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. It enables a flexible combination of these with other disciplines in the liberal arts, giving students the opportunity to study Science within a broader liberal arts inquiry.
This program aims to train budding scholars and citizens who can interact productively with others in both scientific and humanistic fields.
By situating scientific inquiry within a liberal arts context, CMU offers students the unique advantage of a highly integrative approach to learning.
CMU's Arts and Science grads are well equipped to pursue a wide variety of occupations or continue higher-level post-secondary studies.
