Why CMU?
There are a number of reasons why choosing to major in history at CMU is a strong choice.
CMU's small class size means that students have access to support and feedback from their instructors at a much greater level than many other post-secondary institutions.
While the study of ancient history is an important part of the history program at CMU, the importance of studying the more recent past is emphasized as well
Students develop a well-rounded education where they learn to make sense of people, places and time periods completely foreign to them, as well as to the recent history of their own country.
Students are also highly encouraged to pursue their own historical interests, the supervision of which is done by CMU faculty.
