Bachelor of Business Administration
Applicants must meet CMU's regular admission requirements, except that one of the grade 12 subjects they must present is Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S course (or equivalent). Applicants who have not completed the mathematics requirement will be considered on a case-by-case basis for special admission, conditional upon completing that requirement during the first year at CMU.
Bachelor of Arts, three- or four-year, with a major in Business and Organizational Administration
Applicants must meet CMU's regular admission requirements, except that one of the grade 12 subjects they must present is either Applied Mathematics 40S or Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S (or equivalents).
Note: Applicants who have not completed the mathematics requirement will be considered on a case-by-case basis for special admission, conditional upon completing that requirement during the first year at CMU.
CMU Business Merit Awards
Merit Awards recognize CMU students who are gifted in specific areas of achievement and who desire to excel and contribute to CMU in these areas. Each year, up to 15 Merit Awards ($2,000 per year for up to three years) are given to students upon entering CMU.
Business Merit Awards recognize CMU students who are business-minded and who desire to enter a business program at CMU. Each year, three Business Merit Awards (maximum value $6,000; $2,000 per year for up to three years) are awarded to students entering CMU. In order to qualify for a Business Merit Award, students must submit the Scholarship Application and have one nomination submitted from someone who can speak to your suitability for study in the Redekop School of Business (e.g. teacher, employer). All materials must be submitted no later than February 28.
Eligibility
- Is completing a high school diploma or has no more than 60 credit hours of post-secondary education.
- Plans to enroll in full-time studies at CMU (minimum nine credit hours per semester).
- Has a CMU Entrance Average of no less than 80% over three academic subjects, including either Pre-Calculus Math 40S or Applied Math 40S (or equivalents) and English 40S, with a minimum grade of 60% in each.
- Is accepted into the Redekop School of Business
A student may apply for one or all of the Merit Awards and also for a Leadership Scholarship. However, students may only receive one Merit Award (Academic, Music, Science, Business, or Athletic) or the Leadership Scholarship.
Continuing Eligibility:
- GPA of 3.5
- Enrolled in a minimum of nine credit hours per semester at CMU
- Continued enrolment in CMU's Bachelor of Business Administration or Bachelor of Arts in Business and Organizational Administration program
Application Requirements
The following are required to be considered for the Business Merit Award:
- A completed Redekop School of Business statement - 250 words addressing what inspires and motivates you to pursue your chosen area of study. This must be uploaded through your application portal.
- A nomination form submitted by someone who can recommend you to the Redekop School of Business. This will be automatically sent to your nominator when you submit the Scholarship Application.
Application forms and required materials must be submitted by February 28 to be eligible. Application forms are available to current CMU applicants on their application portal.
Indspire Building Brighter Futures – CMU Business Award
Indspire Canada's Building Brighter Futures program has a variety of scholarships and bursaries available to Indigenous students attending post-secondary institutions. CMU is an Indspire partner! Intake deadlines are August 1 and November 1.
