Music

Why Major in Music?
Music studies consist of the discipline and art of music-making along with exploration of how music serves the human need for imagination, beauty, and creativity. Alongside a wide array of academic music courses and individual applied music studies, CMU offers students the opportunity to participate in outstanding ensembles, including choirs, guitar ensemble, vocal jazz, jazz band, worship band, opera workshop, and small chamber groups.
Studies in music prepare students for futures in music education, performance, ministry, administration, and musicology. For those who wish to pursue a career in law, business, innovative technology or many others, music degrees are known to offer a superior training due to the combination of healthy discipline and problem solving creativity.
