Class of 1953 to gather for 60-year reunion at Fall Festival

Times of sharing, remembering, fellowship, and prayer are planned as graduates from the 1953 classes of CMU’s predecessor colleges gather at the university’s Fall Festival for their 60th class reunion.

Fifteen Canadian Mennonite Bible College (CMBC) and Mennonite Brethren Bible College (MBBC) alumni and spouses will reunite at the university Sept. 27-28.

Bridge-builder profile: Jaron and Abby Friesen

Jaron and Abby Friesen are supporting CMU by buying a tile through the Come Together: Be a Bridge Builder campaign because the university is important to them. Jaron graduated from CMU in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in International Development Studies as well as Biblical & Theological Studies.

Originally from Waldheim, Sask., Jaron began working at CMU three months after he graduated. Today, he is the assistant director of hosting and facilities at the university.

Farmer’s market, pie bake-off add to Fall Festival's ‘country fair’ feel

New to this year’s CMU Fall Festival is the farmer’s market happening in the morning on Saturday, Sept. 28. In addition to vegetables from the CMU Farm, the market will feature a variety of different local food and other vendors.

Megan Klassen-Wiebe, a CMU alumnus who is organizing the farmer’s market, is hoping that participants will include vegetable vendors, a honey producer, jewelry makers, baked goods, and perhaps a fruit producer.

Royal Canoe guitarist talks about how CMU has shaped his life
