We are pleased to have Dr. Christopher Brittain join us for the conference. Dr. Brittain is an experienced qualitative field researcher in theology and participated in the initial conferences that created the Ecclesiology and Ethnography network and a research agenda that draws together those working empirically and theologically. His recently published research focused on relations within the global Anglican Communion (Penn State University Press, 2018).

Dr. Brittain returned to Trinity College in 2017 after serving as Professor of Social and Political Theology at the University of Aberdeen Scotland (2007-2017) where he remains an Honorary member of staff in Divinity at the university. In 2016-17, he was a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Religious Studies, University of Vienna, and was Assistant Professor at the Atlantic School of Theology in Halifax (2002-2006).

Dr. Brittain is also an ordained priest in the Anglican tradition with parish ministry experience in Canada, Scotland, and the Diocese of Europe with particular interest in church outreach work with marginalized peoples, and in Christian Education.
