Through the CMU Capital Fund, you help uphold the essential systems that support student life, environmental sustainability, and a strong future for our campus.

All upgrades on our campus are rooted in our mission to prepare students for a life of service, leadership, and reconciliation. We do this work as we commit to being responsible stewards of the land we find ourselves on.

Projects

1) Upgrading the sewer system of Assiniboine Castle

The earth is reclaiming the 100+ year-old Assiniboine Castle sewer system. Current priorities include renewing aging sewer infrastructure and addressing root intrusion that threatens the reliability of these essential systems. Upgrades are essential to ensure our campus remains safe, functional, and resilient for years to come.

The cost of this project is $400,000.

A gift of $1,400 helps upgrade one metre of our sewer system.

2) Uphold: Poettcker Hall residence renewal

This project represents the CMU's commitment to preserving the decades-long transformative legacy of the building while creating vibrant, sustainable spaces for students to thrive.

Through necessary upgrades and critical improvements, work on this project has aldady breathed new life into Poettcker Hall, ensuring its sustainability and legacy for future generations.

Over $3.5M has been raised of the $8.2M goal.

3) Transforming energy use across campus

CMU is working toward a more sustainable energy future by expanding the use of cleaner, more efficient systems across campus. It is a key priority to convert major residence and campus buildings to geothermal energy.

Building on CMU's growing commitment to environmental stewardship, we will transform how we use energy within Katherine Friesen Apartments and Assiniboine Castle.
