Travis Goron
Assistant Professor of Biology

Travis is a biologist with a strong background in plant science, crop physiology, and microbial biology. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Guelph, and later conducted postdoctoral work at Wageningen University in the Netherlands.
Travis' research has focused on enhancing productivity in agricultural plants, particularly through the application of biosensors, crop protection technologies, agronomy, and beneficial microbes. He has contributed significantly to the understanding of nitrogen metabolism in crop plants, and his work has been published in high-impact journals. He has conducted work in North America, Europe, Africa, and China.
Travis has also held a research position at Corteva Agriscience, where he applied his expertise to agricultural innovation in the private sector. His interdisciplinary approach bridges academic research and practical applications in sustainable crop production.
