The Behavioural Health Foundation (BHF) is a Therapeutic Community providing long-term bed-based treatment for adults and family units experiencing issues related to substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns. Programming includes individual and group counselling and focuses on wholistic person centered wellness. Adult education, employment development and life skills are key components of supporting residents to move to healthier coping and life choices.

BHF is one of the few programs where adults can enter with their children or reunify with children not in their care while they are in the program. With dedicated childcare and K-6 education on site, the program offers healing opportunities for the whole family. The Indigenous Services at BHF offer Traditional Teachings and Ceremonies to residents and community members. Traditional healing in a trauma informed environment has strengthened many members' success in changing their lives. The Outreach team supports members working to maintain healthy choices as they transition back into their communities.

JOB SUMMARY

The Early Childhood Educator will primarily support the Preschool Program (8 children), ensuring a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment. This role involves planning and implementing activities that foster social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.

 

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in supervision of all children and in ensuring that all children are accurately signed in and out at each attendance period.
• Prepare daily activities based on the individual needs and characteristics of the children in the program, providing appropriate stimulation and nurturing.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
• Meet with other staff, parents or other professionals as required.
• Develop rapport with the parents and provide role modelling, advice and encouragement and support.

 

QUALITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Early Childhood Educator (ECE) classification required; a minimum of two (2) years of related experience is preferred.
• Candidates who self-identify as First Nations, Métis, or Inuit are encouraged to apply. Indigenous ancestry is considered an asset in recognition of the populations served by the program.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Knowledge of addictions and their impact on children, individuals, families, and communities.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Athletes in Action is offering a unique opportunity to do a joint internship with our Youth and Campus ministries. The intern will have the opportunity to experience what ministry with AIA is like through ministering to athletes on Campus and helping to run sports camps in the summer. Coaches will be expected to combat negative views of sport culture with the gospel, while inspiring churches to reach their local community.

The Mino Pimatisiwin Coach (Good Life Coach) provides wellness support, advocacy, and supportive guidance services to individuals and families through community engagement, outreach, and one-to-one supportive sessions.

Operating as an independent contractor, the MPC works from a holistic, trauma-informed perspective that respects and incorporates Indigenous (First Nations, Métis, and Inuit) cultures, traditions, and teachings. This role is suited for individuals passionate about community wellness, relationship-building, and supporting people in reaching their personal goals and highest level of wellness.

 

As an Independent Contractor, the MPC will provide the following services:

• Supportive Wellness Services: Provides supportive listening, client intake, wellness check-ins, strengths-based goal planning, and brief supportive interventions to individuals and families.

• Community Outreach & Engagement: Builds positive relationships within community settings and participates in outreach initiatives that promote wellness, healthy living, and connection to services.

• Advocacy & Service Navigation: Assists individuals and families in accessing appropriate community, health, educational, and social supports.

• Psycho-Educational Support: Assists in facilitating wellness groups, life skills programming, and community-based workshops focused on mental wellness, addictions awareness, grief/loss, healthy relationships, and self-care.

Contractor Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Minimum Diploma in Social Service Work (SSW), Child & Youth Care, Addictions & Mental Health, Indigenous Human Services, or related Human Services field, DSW, Nurse or Equivalent education and experience may be considered.

• Professional Standing: Must be registered and in good standing with an applicable regulatory or professional body (where applicable) and maintain active professional liability insurance.

• Experience:  3-5 years of experience in direct counselling, community development, family support, or group facilitation. Candidates with a mix of practicum and professional experience are encouraged to apply.

• Technology Proficiency: Proficiency with Owl Practice (or similar clinic management/EMR software) for charting and scheduling, and comfort utilizing its integrated telehealth/virtual care platforms.

Compensation: $50 - $100/hr, based on education, skills, clinical experience, and professional designation

Location: Manitoba – Fly-in positions to remote northern communities on a rotational basis (7–10 days in community / 7–10 days out)

Position Overview
The MCRC Community Travel Counsellor provides confidential short-term mental health counselling and wellness support services to individuals and families through in-person community-based services and outreach initiatives.

Operating as an independent contractor, the Counsellor will work from a holistic, trauma-informed perspective that is sensitive to Indigenous (First Nations, Métis, and Inuit) cultures, traditions, and teachings. Due to the rotational nature of the position, services are focused on brief intervention, stabilization, wellness support, psychoeducation, and community collaboration.

As an Independent Contractor, the Community Travel Counsellor will provide the following services:

• Brief Counselling & Wellness Support: Provides short-term supportive counselling, intake assessments, wellness planning, and brief intervention services focused on stabilization, coping strategies, and overall wellness.

• Mental Health & Addictions Support: Supports individuals experiencing concerns related to mental health, addictions, grief/loss, stress, family wellness, and emotional well-being.

• Community Liaison & Advocacy: Collaborates with nursing stations, schools, integrated health teams, and community agencies to support coordinated service delivery and client advocacy.

• Psycho-Education & Workshops: Develops and facilitates psycho-educational workshops and wellness programming for community members.

• Crisis Support & Referral: Participates in initial safety assessments and provides referrals to local crisis resources, emergency supports, and longer-term services when appropriate.

• Professional Documentation: Maintains confidential and timely case documentation in accordance with professional and ethical standards.

 

Contractor Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Minimum Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), Master of Social Work (MSW), Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology, or related Human Services field from an accredited institution.

• Professional Standing: Must be registered and in good standing with an applicable regulatory or professional body (e.g., OCSWSSW, MCSW, CRPO, or equivalent) and maintain professional liability insurance.

• Experience:  3-5 years of experience in direct counselling, community development, family support, or group facilitation. Candidates with a mix of practicum and professional experience are encouraged to apply.

• Technology Proficiency: Proficiency with Owl Practice (or similar clinic management/EMR software) for charting and scheduling, and comfort utilizing its integrated telehealth/virtual care platforms.

• Clearances: Must provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) and a clean Child Welfare Record Check (if applicable) prior to commencement of contract.

• Cultural Knowledge: Deep understanding of the ongoing impacts of colonization and intergenerational trauma. Experience working meaningfully with First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities is highly valued. 

•Cultural Safety Training: Evidence of completion of cultural safety training

• Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills.

• Language: The ability to speak an Indigenous language (e.g., Cree, Ojibway, Oji-Cree) is considered a major asset.

• Certifications & Training

• Crisis Awareness & Core Training:
  • Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) or similar suicide intervention training.
  • Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) framework application.
  • Standard First Aid and CPR (Level C).
  • WHMIS and Routine Practices/Universal Precautions.
  • De-escalation Skills: Certification in NVCI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention), CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute), or an equivalent crisis de-escalation training.
  • Harm Reduction & Mental Health: Training in Harm Reduction philosophies, Naloxone administration, and Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) – First Nations.

• Flexibility: Ability to work independently within remote northern communities on a rotational schedule.

• Travel & Adaptability: Valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and a willingness to travel via small aircraft or winter roads to remote locations. High adaptability to changing weather conditions and limited local infrastructure.

Crossroads MB Church is smaller Mennonite Brethren congregation in Winnipeg but God has been growing us. Our children's ministry has been steadily expanding, and now a generation of youth is rising up behind it.

And now we are looking for a Youth and Young Adult Ministry Leader to meet that moment: someone who can gather teens and young adults, disciple them, raise up leaders among them, and point them outward in mission.

Job Title: Youth and Young Adult Ministry Leader

Reports to: Pastor, Visioning Board

Time: 0.75 FTE (28 hrs/wk.)

Purpose: To provide leadership to our youth and young adult communities as we grow in faith, discipleship, community, and mission together.

Core Responsibilities

• Prepare and lead regularly scheduled youth events
• Oversee youth and young adult small groups
• Build and equip youth leadership team
• Provide pastoral care and mentorship opportunities to the youth and young adult communities
• Develop and implement community outreach strategy for youth and young adults
• Assist in the leadership of our youth and children's Sunday morning communities
• Oversee compliance with our youth safety policy and other administrative responsibilities

Qualifications

• Be spiritually mature and a member or participant in good standing of your current congregation

Pastoral Care Duties

Leadership Duties

• Oversee the spiritual care and Biblical instruction of the congregation

• Oversee volunteer ministries, working with the leadership of each and helping to develop new ministries where needed (for example, Youth)

Communication Duties

• Develop and deliver challenging and stimulating biblically-based weekly sermons during worship services, as well as on special occasions and events.
  • Must be able to connect with a diverse congregation.
• Encourage the congregation in personal evangelism
• Encourage the congregation in ministering to the needs of members and non-members
• Communicate with and nurture the youth on their faith journey

Administrative Duties

• Supervise the Church Administrator, including:
  • Ensure records regarding baptisms and membership are accurate and current.
  • Manage the daily operations of our church
