Easter Seals Camps
A summer camp tradition in British Columbia for over 50 years, Easter Seals offers one of the best nature-based, fully accessible, overnight summer camps for children, youth, and adults to age 49 with disabilities such as autism, down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and ADHD. We are dedicated to maintaining a place where everyone is welcome, and where unique programming caters to all abilities and cultivates personal growth.
Three Locations Across BC (currently only staffing two due to redevelopment project)
Our two operating sites are in the Okanagan and in Squamish:

Camp Squamish – 41015 Government Road, Squamish (1 Hour north of Vancouver)
Activities and facilities vary at each location, and include swimming pools, lake dock with slide, water slide, climbing walls, rope courses, sailing, canoeing, arts & crafts, outdoor basketball courts, in-ground trampolines, arts & crafts room, talent shows, water sports & more!

Dates
Both sites: June 14th – August 8th
Camp schedules run on a rotation of 5-6 working days, followed by 2-4 days off. Exact camp dates can be found on the overnight camps section of our website.
Wages
$152 per day
Accommodation and meals are included.
Counsellor Duties
Camp Counsellors are responsible for providing general leadership to the camp team, including staff and volunteers. You will form a buddy group with 6 campers per session and provide direct care, support, supervision, and assistance of those campers in accordance with camp policies, procedures, and objectives. All staff are required to follow Covid-19 policies at the time of camp, including but not limited to, social distancing, mask usage, sanitation, and others.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Camper Care
-
Attend to the camper's emotional well-being, ensuring they feel secure, comfortable, and welcome in the camp environment.
-
Attend to the camper's personal and hygienic needs (washing, feeding, toileting, etc.) and coordinate such activity appropriately within the camp schedule.
-
Be familiar with the assigned campers' special medical conditions and/or behavioural issues and act according to care support directives provided by the Camp Coordinators, Nurse, and the campers' parents/guardians.
-
Create care cards for each camper containing their essential medical and support information.
-
Be able to perform first aid (e.g., administer an Epi Pen) if the need arises.
-
Monitor the assigned campers' special diets and contact with allergens.
-
As much as possible, encourage each camper's independence and recognize and utilize potential for personal growth or social development.
-
Always conduct yourself as an effective role model.
-
Assist assigned campers in selecting activities as required.
-
Encourage maximum camper participation in all activities, while respecting a camper's personal choice to not participate in an activity.
-
Ensure camper's belongings are well cared for throughout a camp session and are accounted for upon arrival and departure from camp. Ensure that each item is checked off the clothing list and the list returned with the belongings.
-
Immediately report any concerns regarding the camper's emotional/physical wellbeing or behaviour to the Camp Coordinators.
-
Correspond with camper guardians and relevant authorities as required.
-
Use discretion to make decisions about campers' ongoing suitability for the program.
Safety
-
Always ensure that effective standards of safety are maintained and followed.
-
Report all accidents, seizures, or illnesses to the Health Care Team immediately.
-
Always follow the directions of the HealthCare Team and the Camp Coordinators.
-
In the event of an emergency, follow the appropriate procedures reviewed during training. Complete and submit incident reports and other documentation as required.
-
Provide leadership in coordinating appropriate emergency responses.
-
Participate in water rescue as required.
-
Undergo and be comfortable applying WHMIS training on the safe and proper usage of cleaning chemicals.
Program
-
Develop activities outside of scheduled program periods.
-
Mentor and manage Volunteer Counsellors in coordinating and carrying out activities
-
Participate in all camp activities.
-
Offer feedback and input into planning programs.
-
Provide mentorship to campers and volunteers and always conduct yourself as an effective role model.
General
-
Attend and participate in all staff meetings.
-
Work night duty and rest duty as required.
-
Develop an award of recognition for each camper.
-
Complete evaluations on all campers, volunteers, and personal support workers on the appropriate forms.
-
Complete all necessary paperwork in time required.
-
Fulfil duties assigned during weekly site cleanup and end of season cleanup.
-
Perform various duties surrounding the camp program and camper care as required throughout the summer.
-
Other duties as directed by the Camp Coordinators.
-
Adhere to our code of conduct, privacy, IT, and other related policies.

Standard First Aid with CPR-C. This course may be available at any of the camp locations prior to staff orientation, should there be adequate demand.

The Behavioural Health Foundation (BHF) is a long-standing therapeutic community providing long-term, bed-based treatment for adults and families experiencing substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns. Our holistic, person-centred programming integrates individual and group counselling, life skills development, adult education, employment readiness, and family healing.
BHF is one of the few programs in Manitoba where adults can enter treatment with their children or reunify with children during their stay. On-site childcare and K–6 education support whole-family recovery. Indigenous Services at BHF offer Traditional Teachings and Ceremonies within a trauma-informed framework, and our Outreach team supports members as they transition back to community life.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Counsellor plays a vital role within BHF's therapeutic community, working as part of an interdisciplinary team to support healing, accountability, and personal growth. In alignment with the therapeutic community model, the Counsellor functions as a guide, safety net, and strategic support, helping residents engage with the community itself as a primary vehicle for change.
The Counsellor also provides evidence-informed, short-term counselling interventions within the therapeutic community setting. Services include consultation, psychosocial assessment, and focused counselling interventions, typically delivered over a maximum of six to twelve sessions. This role involves active collaboration with residents and team members to foster insight, responsibility, connection, and recovery. Strong clinical judgment, reflective practice, and the ability to intervene thoughtfully while maintaining the integrity of the community process are essential.
As a member of the BHF team, the Counsellor delivers trauma support and brief treatment counselling, and contributes consultation, clinical case feedback, and collaborative treatment planning alongside clients and the interdisciplinary team. Services are delivered within an integrated, multidisciplinary framework and require a strong commitment to person-centered, recovery-based care.
The position functions in alignment with the mission, vision, values, and policies of Behavioural Health Foundation.
SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide trauma-informed, evidence-based individual and group counselling within a therapeutic community setting.
- Deliver short-term and brief counselling interventions focused on stabilization, insight, and recovery.
- Support residents in engaging with the therapeutic community as a primary tool for personal growth and change.
- Conduct assessments and contribute to person-centred, strength-based treatment planning.
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated, recovery-oriented care.
- Offer consultation and clinical input to support treatment planning and community-based interventions.
- Create and maintain a safe, respectful, and culturally responsive environment for program participants.
- Respond appropriately to client crises using trauma-informed and evidence-based practices.
- Complete accurate, timely documentation including assessments, progress notes, and summaries.
- Connect clients with internal and community resources to support continuity of care.
- Participate in team meetings, clinical supervision, and professional development activities.
- Adhere to all Behavioural Health Foundation policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
QUALITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in health-related social science (e.g., BSW, MACP, BSc MH) Other relevant four (4) year educational programs may be considered.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience providing individual and/or group counselling in a clinical or therapeutic setting.
- Experience working with addictions, mental health, trauma, and co-occurring disorders
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed, person-centered, recovery-based approaches
- Proficiency in Motivational Interviewing; CBT and DBT skills considered assets
- Demonstrated ability to conduct assessments and develop strength-based treatment plans
- Experience responding to client crises using evidence-based intervention techniques
- Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, intergenerational trauma, and commitment to culturally safe care
- Strong interpersonal communication, documentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
- Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) certification or willingness to obtain
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check (no older than three months)
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed.

This will be carried out under the direction of the Executive Director as directed by the Board policy and in keeping with Hope Centre Health Care Policies and Procedure and the Mission Statement.
Responsibilities
Client Care
- Facilitates the assessment, identification and analysis of service methods consistent with client's goal and objectives.
- Actively engages the client in determining and developing a course of action which will include: identification of problem areas, establishment of treatment goals, facilitation of problem resolution and development of criteria for termination.
- Establishes a counseling contract with clients; crisis counseling (2-3 weeks) short term counseling (under 6 weeks), long term counseling (6 weeks and longer), or group counseling and together with client works consistently towards treatment goals within an agreed upon time frame.
- Implements the internal and external service delivery methods to address and meet the need of the client.
- Utilizes case conference meetings to report and review specific case summaries as deemed appropriate.
- Maintains client health records as per HCHC policy and procedures within the electronic medical record system.
- Returns calls and answers letters promptly
- Maintains counseling waiting list.
- Initiates, develops, consults and maintains an ongoing awareness of community needs.
- Responsible for provided complete case management for assigned clients.
- Provides appropriate closure of counseling whenever possible
External Agency Contracts
- Consults and collaborates with appropriate department/agency/community groups on a case by case basis.
- Interprets the work of the department and HCHC to outside agencies.
- Attends and/or initiates meetings outside the agency when necessary or requested by the Executive Director
- Provided consultation and learning opportunities as requested.
Multi-Disciplinary Team Member
- Functioning in a multi-disciplinary team setting, the Counselor will work with HCHC personnel in providing whole person health care to clients.
- Participates and contributes in case conference, health planning conference meetings and other HCHC committee or task group when necessary.
- Participates and contributes in staff meeting, staff in-services, department meetings and other HCHC Committee or task groups as necessary.
- Maintains appropriate confidentiality as per HCHC policy
- Presents self and program in a positive and professional manner.
- Uses appropriate channels of communication at both internal and external agency levels.
- Collaborates and cooperates with HCHC staff in an appropriate manner
- Develops and engages in a professional plan
- Represents the Centre and its goals in the local community and the broader community.
- Maintains his/her knowledge base of current trends and developments in the counseling profession.

Broken Arrow Youth Ranch (BAYR) is a small charitable organization located in the gorgeous hills of Wood Mountain, Saskatchewan, near the Grasslands National Park. BAYR works toward helping struggling families heal and grow. The family of believers that make up BAYR receive children under the age of 18 from these families to come and live on the ranch for a minimum of one year. We are searching for Ranch Parents for the ministry.
- The successful candidates will be a Godly-living married couple who desire to serve the Lord and have a call to the ministry of being Ranch Parents at BAYR. An experienced couple who has already raised children of their own is preferred, or those who have work experience involved with children and youth. The couple must be committed to living a Christ-centered life, and attending a Christ-centered church. They should have an on-going commitment to continue personal and professional development.

- Ranch parents are expected to have constant supervision of the children in their care, be available and prepared to deal with all kinds of situations. Their job is to provide positive, nurturing care for the children, and be godly role models and disciplinarians. They need to carry out the structures and routines of the program (including but not limited to: work projects on the ranch with youth, homework, recreational activities, family social activities, community interaction, church, be ambassadors for the ministry to donors, community and visitors). It is their responsibility to provide meals and proper daily nutrition to the youth. They must make sure the house and its surrounding area remain well kept and inviting, ready to have guests to come and tour at all times. The ranch parents will be responsible for tending to the emotional and spiritual needs of the children and youth.
- It would be beneficial, but not essential, to have experience in farming or ranching, working with horses and/or other livestock.
- There are living accommodations provided on site

The Worship Assistant works closely with the volunteer worship leaders of Covenant CRC to provide resources and guidance for the planning of weekly worship services that are consistent with the mission and values of our church. We are also searching for a new Lead Pastor so, once a new pastor is hired, they would work closely with them as well. The Worship Assistant also ensures communication and coordination among all worship service volunteers, including musicians and audio- visual operators, and recruits volunteers for seasonal and occasional worship elements, such as choirs and vocal and choral ensembles.
This position is part-time (20 hours per week) 2 days in the church office with some flexibility for remaining work hours. The successful candidate will have worship planning experience and educational or professional qualifications in the area of worship and/or music. Salary is commensurate with experience.
