Born and raised in Winnipeg, Nicolien graduated from CMU with a BA in Communications and Media. She returned to CMU in 2019 to work as Writer in the Marketing and Communications department and as Host and Producer of CMU's radio program, Sunday at CMU.
Nicolien values the community and passion for learning at CMU and enjoys bringing to life the multitude of stories waiting to be told. She has also written for Anabaptist World, Westgate Mennonite Collegiate, Mennonite Central Committee, Showbiz Monkeys, and Canadian Mennonite, where she was Manitoba Correspondent for six years.
Nicolien loves singing in choirs, travelling, listening to live music, and giving her cat hugs. She attends Charleswood Mennonite Church.
